Sunday Morning Coffee

This weekend was the slow, family filled type that I really needed after a week where it seemed I just couldn’t catch up to myself.

I kicked things off on Friday night at my younger sister’s football game for senior night. I still can’t believe she’s a senior in high school. I feel like just a week ago she was 4 and throwing Bratz dolls at me to get her way. If you follow me on Instagram (which you absolutely should) you probably saw me getting a little crazy stage mom on stories showing her off. She’s a cheerleading captain (just like I was) and such a little super star.

The next few weeks are going to be packed with lots of events, blog work and prep for some upcoming travel. I’ll be trying my best to balance it all with more wholesome meals made at home, early bedtimes and trying to spend less time attached to my phone.

Links I Loved…

I’m on a podcast! Catch me talking about balancing a full time job, anxiety and more as a creator. I really loved talking with Jessica (she’s a long time friend in my head) and her podcast is amazing.

+ For anyone on the job or internship hunt – how to write a good cover letter.

+ And some pretty solid career advice.

+ Roxane Gay so eloquently states why, in times like these, I lean on reading and fiction.

+ Are you ready for the midterm elections. I am!

+ How to be an informed voter.

+ I’ve been all about sprucing up my little studio’s decor. The best part of chilly weather is wrapping up in a cozy blanket with a mug of something warm.

+ It’s slow cooker season! And I’ll definitely add these meatballs to my “to make” list.

+ Why we shouldn’t feel guilty for not being able to do it all, and what to do instead.

+ Movies to lift you up when you’re feeling down.

Happy Sunday.

  1. Good luck these next few weeks; sounds like you’ve got a lot on your plate! Autumn usually inspires me to make more wholesome meals, but I definitely need to sleep earlier as well. // Love the articles on cover letters and career advice! Ever since graduation, I’ve become a lot more interested in how people have gotten to where they are in their lives right now. I realise how much more I could have taken advantage of when I was in college, but hey, at least I know now! // omg those blankets! My goal blanket is one of those chunky knit merino wool blankets <3 I'm also loving that Good At Naps blanket :3 // Wishing you a great week ahead! -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey’s
