manifesto

I believe that stories have the power to transform our lives. That we should always follow our curiosities. And that most breakthroughs start with good questions.

what’s the backstory?

A bit about me…

I’m a writer and content creator based in Philadelphia, originally from New Jersey. When I was 13, I asked my parents to buy me a domain name for my birthday (this is, for sure, weird.) I’ve been writing words and making things on the internet ever since. Which means I’ve been writing and creating content for 15 years. My content predates Instagram, and I remember when YouTube was just cat and prank videos.

I’m passionate about storytelling. I have a background in strategic communication and have used that as a launching pad to tell stories in as many ways as possible. I’ve worked with brands like Bumble, Penguin Randomhouse and Netflix Films to create original content that resonates with real people. I have bylines in the Philadelphia Inquirer and xoNecole. I’ve hosted events and conferences like FearlessCon and The Cr8tiv Connection. I love to ask questions, dig deep into trends and have let this curiously fuel the creation of my online community.

host a podcast where I examine how folks are doing it, (it being everything). Most of my other work can be found on YouTubeInstagram, and here on this website.

what drives me

001.

Representation. I know that by just daring to exist online and boldly embrace all of the intersections of my identity (Black, woman, fat), it’s making a difference.

002.

Curiosity. The older I get, the more questions I have. I find it so worthwhile to cultivate your curiosity and I hope to never run out of questions.

003.

Strong coffee. Seriously, when I get passionate about anything, I’ll throw myself into it fully. Sleep gets tossed aside and espresso becomes my bff.

These are a few of my favorite things
If I can do any mix of these activities, I’m having a great day:
  • Start my morning with the perfect cup of coffee.
  • Read an entire book in a day.
  • Take a long walk through the city.
  • Find time for an afternoon shower during the work week.
  • Rewatch all of Downton Abbey.
  • Spending time writing (mostly fiction) or journaling my thoughts.
  • Sitting in a coffee shop for hours and people watching.
  • Wearing a matching sweat suit on a chilly fall day.
