March was definitely a slower reading month for me. April has been a slower month in general without travel, big events or too many crazy deadlines.
In March, every week I felt like something major (and time consuming) was happening. It was a month filled with big moments and a lot of good feelings. I went to Pittsburg to present a talk on a huge campaign we did for work –which was amazing. I spoke on a panel all about branding yourself and your content to some of the Raddest Girls in Philly, I filmed videos, kept up the blog and kept my head above water at work.
At the end of all of those days, coming home and reaching for a book was a great solace, but took a lot of effort. Still, somehow, I managed to finish 5 books. I think a long flight with lots of snow delays helped (a lot) with making that happen.

Avenged by Amy Tintera
Rating: 4.5/5 Stars
What I liked/disliked: I really love this series! For a YA fantasy series, I think the world and magic systems are super interesting and complex. I love the way strong female characters play a huge part in the storyline and the character development from the first book to this one was fantastic. I cannot wait until the third book is released!

Coretta: My Life, My Love, My Legacy by Coretta Scott King
Rating: 4/5 Stars
What I liked/disliked: Coretta’s life was incredibly interesting, and it was nice to read about events from her perspective as we often only hear Martin’s. I loved how candid she was about her interactions with other prominent civil rights leaders and US politicians. Makes you wonder about some people for sure! There were some seriously slow parts in the middle, but I thought the book was a good read.

Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng
Rating: 4.5/5 Stars
What I liked/disliked: This book was almost perfect. I almost wish it was a bit longer! The characters were so fantastic, I honestly just wanted more of them. Especially Hannah! She had so much more to give us, and to be a side character, I felt the most emotionally connected to her and her wellbeing. The writing here is absolutely fantastic and I can’t wait to reread this.

Erotic Stories for Punjabi Widows by Balli Kaur Jaswal
Rating: 4/5 Stars
What I liked/disliked: This book was nothing like I thought it would be, and everything that I needed. The characters were complex and absolutely hilarious. The book made me laugh out loud several times and I loved switching between the audiobook and physical copy.

The Wedding Date by Jasmine Guillory
Rating: 4/5
What I liked/disliked: I’d been hearing mixed reviews about this book and enjoyed it way more than I anticipated. The author is an African American woman, so the portrayal of our Black main character was so spot on and authentic, that definitely helped me enjoy the book more. The story line is funny, the plot kept me engaged and I absolutely loved the ending. Such a sweet story.
