About a week ago, I was sweating to death in the back of an Uber and decided to show you guys a quick summer essentials what’s in my bag breakdown on IG stories. I decided to share it here on the blog so you can save items, shop and create your own summer essentials bag!
Being on the go in crazy hot temps and humidity do not inspire me to be my most cute self. So having a bag loaded with essential items on hand has been key. My golden rule when it’s sweltering outside is to leave with a clean, fresh face and plan to do all of your primping once you’re in AC at your destination. Doing your makeup in weird bathroom lighting is the official denotation of summer.
I also try to keep my makeup as minimal as possible during the summer time. We sweat so much and are constantly wiping our faces or applying more spf (please, tell me you’re using spf!!) that caking on foundation or a ton of concealer doesn’t seem healthy. So I skip that step and focus on the smallest amount of makeup to make me feel more “put together.”
Before we jump in to my summer essentials, let’s talk about my bag!!
The last thing I purchased in Paris was my Longchamp bag. I knew when I booked the trip that I wanted to go to the home of Longchamp to purchase my bag. It’s definitely the best everyday tote I’ve owned and I plan to get more in other sizes and colors! It holds a ton, is super easy to clean and, most importantly, is waterproof! I usually have a laptop and a camera in my bag, so knowing that they’re safe if I’m caught in a rainstorm gives me so much peace of mind.

To freshen up
Megababe Rosy Pits Deodorant
Summer equals sweat and this all natural deodorant helps me to arrive fresh! I’ve tried so many natural deodorants and this one is my favorite when it comes to effectiveness and formula. It’s definitely not cheap (it retails at $18) but is worth it. I’ve purchased to and consider it a go-to all year round.
Megababe Megafresh Wipes
Can you tell I love this brand?! I use these wipe for everything! From taking off makeup to just freshening up or wiping my underarms before reapplying deodorant. They work for everything and are a godsend during your period!
Glossier ‘You’ Solid Perfume
This perfume is everything, ok?! EVERYTHING! I love the solid because it’s easy to travel with, easy to apply and lasts for hours. I don’t think I’ve ever loved a scent this much. The story behind this perfume is that it smells differently on every body. I’ve smelled it on a few people and that’s absolutely true!! But it always smells amazing.
For a minimal makeup look
Like I said, it’s way too hot for a full face, so I keep things simple. My go to, pulled together look typically includes: mascara, a bit of blush, filling in my brows, a bit of lipgloss or sheer lip color.
Glam Glow GlowStarter Mega Illuminating Moisturizer
I’ve gone through 2 tubes of this moisturizer and love it when I’m not using foundation or concealer. It adds a nice, glowy finish without leaving you looking sweaty. I use this on top of my regular moisturizer and SPF. It only takes a little to make an impact. I use the nude glow shade (it isn’t tinted) and only buy the travel size (the full size is very pricy and I don’t think it’s worth it).
They’re Real Benefit Mascara
This is the best mascara I’ve ever used, hands down. I’m on my 4th tube and there is honestly no turning back. It makes my lashes look full, long and still natural. It doesn’t budge, even through an ugly cry. Highly recommend.
Fenty Gloss Bomb Lipgloss
I’m not a gloss girl, but I love this one and always have it on hand. It looks great alone or over color, doesn’t dry your lips out and truly gives you a glow.
Fenty Shimmer Stix
A little highlight goes a long way. I love this one because it’s easy to carry around, easy to apply and looks great. It’s never freaked my skin out like some powders do and seriously makes you feel like a shiny trophy in the best way. Pro tip: dab a bit on your eyes for an easy, no work eye look too. I use the shade Rum.
Flesh Lipstick
The best sheer lip!! I love how it feels on, the way it last (definitely need to reapply if eating/drinking but not otherwise) and how it looks on. I use the shade “Slick” which is a dark brown and adds just the right amount of color.
Glossier Cloud Paint
Another Glossier hit!! I reach for this blush more than any other I own. Just a light dab on the cheeks and nose gives the perfect flushed look. I also use it as a lipstain (with a bit of gloss bomb over it) and an eyeshadow. It’s amazing. I use the shade Dawn, but plan to try others soon!
Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz
I don’t have to say much here. This is the best brow pencil ever. I have used this for years and it’s my go-to.
