Wow, can you believe the first month of the new year is already done and over? I have a feeling this year is going to FLY by even faster than 2013.
I’ve been a little MIA around these parts, mainly because this was the first “real” week of the Spring semester for me. Philadelphia has gotten more snow in the past few weeks than you can imagine. I’m so ready for the ice and snow to melt and for it to be 75 and sunny with a light breeze again.
I spent the week adjusting to a new, jam packed schedule of classes, work, internship, outside activities and blogging. It didn’t take long for me to realize that I am going to have to super time manage if I plan to stay afloat, and get things accomplished. I took an hour or so the other day to sit down with my good friend, Google Cal, and input my entire life into scheduled form. Just having everything written out and ready to go helps me breathe a little easier. I’ll be sharing more on my organization and time management methods in posts to come!
Some links I loved this week…
+ I’ve been thinking so much about entrepreneurship and freelance work lately. It’s always been a point of interest to me. This post from Create as Folk is all about the money aspect of self employment. I love how Laura, the creative genius behind Create as Folk, points out that money doesn’t always come from the projects you put the most effort it — it’s the one that meets the need of your audience at the time. Honestly, if you’re into motivating posts on business and self starting, I highly recommend digging through her archives a bit.
+ Loved Noor’s success indicator info graphic that she created. It’s awesome that she noted that successful people actually want others to succeed. So often people spend so much time competing with others, they lose focus of the things that will actually bring them success!
+ Kelly of Behind the Design has been writing some awesome stuff on branding lately. It’s really got me thinking about the direction and vision of my own brand, here on the blog. This week she challenged us to define our brands and businesses using only three words. Can you do it? I definitely struggled!
I hope you all enjoy reading these blogs, and all of the other one’s you follow! If you have a link to share, feel free to leave it in the comments!
Thank you so much for adding my link. I am glad that you enjoyed it and I hope you acomplish great things with your own business.
Thank YOu Noor! Awesome work with this graphic, a huge fan of your designs. You are super talented!
