I’ve been really focused on creating new content to be ready for the rebrand lately. From really getting a good understanding of my new camera, starting to vlog and film videos for YouTube and working with a designer to get the new site up and running.
It’s a lot of work. Combined with working a full time job and making sure this space doesn’t go quiet during the transition.
Late nights. Early mornings. Long lists of things to do.
But, it’s absolutely a labor of love. I am so excited tor reveal the new brand to you all and I’m creating content that I think will be insanely useful and hopefully inspire you all in your creation.
This past weekend, I had the chance to do social for and speak on a panel at the PHL Bloggers #TheBlogConnect Conference. It was an amazing day –but my absolute favorite part was getting to meet some of you guys in person! Finally putting faces to the names in comments and on social media was so great.
It’s still surreal to me when people come up to me to tell me that they even read the blog, let alone that they love it. Thanks so much to you guys for making my day a million times over 🙂
It was during those moments, and while I was speaking on the panel that I really took stock of my true motivating factor in doing the hard work of creating. It’s knowing that I’m producing something that, in some way or another, benefits you all.
Whether the content I make helps you start your own blogs, become brave enough to share your creations or just trying new things to better your lives, it was worth making.
Some other things, besides you awesome people, that keep me motivated.
- Knowing God and my purpose.
- My amazing supportive friends and family.
- My mentors who have helped me get to where I am.
- General and genuine love for the things I do.
So, what about you all? What are the things that motivate you to keep going, even when the work gets tough?
Can’t wait to see your rebrand! I’m sure it’s going to be great. Had so much fun on the panel last weekend. Reading the recaps and emails afterwards have been so uplifting and motivating to keep doing what I’m doing. <3

I read your blog and love it ^-^ Ah it was so great to finally meet in person & I enjoyed your panel so much! Whilst I knew I would learn valuable information from your panel, the extent to which that happened surprised me, because at this point I am not looking to work with brands (though I am open to collaborating with other creatives!). Nevertheless, I learned so much. // When the work gets tough, blogging is what I turn to. It’s cathartic for me and keeps me going. Many of my classmates have told me that they’re amazed that I keep up with the craziness of school and create content for my blog so consistently, but really, the way I deal with the craziness of school is through the creative release of blogging 🙂 -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey’s
What keeps me motivated these days is that I love what I’m doing (social strategy and photography for clients in the city) and I want to keep doing it, so I better kick ass at it! Also, my mortgage. Ha!
