I’m a firm believer that we should always be learning.
Whether you’re taking a new ecourse, picking up a new skill for work or learning a new language in your downtime, it’s so important that we keep our brains expanding and minds open to all that’s out there.
When I sat down to think about things I wanted to accomplish, learning and expanding my skill sets was at the top of the list. Taking courses from Brit + co and Skill Share to help do it. I wanted to pick up new tricks of the trade to help me grow the blog and to grow at my day job.
In fact, that’s one of the things that I really love about my day job, I am constantly learning. In the eight months that I’ve been there, I’ve learned and done more than I thought possible.
Here are a few things I plan to dig deeper into this year:
– Photo editing, finally purchasing a camera and expanding from iPhoneography (which I still love).
– Filming and video editing, I really want to expand to YouTube
– Tacking InDesign, just to expand my knowledge of the creative suite.
– Creating and developing physical projects, because it’s easy to get things created on the internet, but I really want to have a good understanding of the process before I dive in.
What new things do you want to learn this year? Or what have you already been studying?! Share your new lessons in the comments!
I’ve also had the vague notion of expanding to Youtube, but I haven’t really thought about what kind of content I’d upload. Still sitting on it! // Lately I’ve been trying to work on my portrait photogrpahy. I also want to learn how to use Illustrator. -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey’s
Youtube i something I want to get into this year as well. More so like travel vlogs to document my travels when I do travel.
I love this. I believe deeply in it, too, but it’s something I never seem to do a great job of… I took a Coursera series a couple years ago & would like to do that again!
I love this and like you said we should always be learning. I use to take classes on Lynda.com and Udemy.com and It was cool. I just have to learn how to organize my time since I’m a single parent. I am thinking about getting back into learning a new skill.
