I thought that this week, we could start off on a high note with a quote from one of my all time favorite books The Alchemist.

alchemist_monday_postszMost of my friends or people I meet are in really similar situations: young creatives trying to thrive and survive doing things that bring them actual joy. No one has all of the answers.

When you have so many ideas and goals but can’t seem to find the time and resources to execute them the way that you want, it can be incredibly discouraging. After a certain point, it starts to seem hopeless, like you’ll never actually be able to accomplish the things you know so adamantly that you were purposed to do.

If you’ve never read it before, I highly recommend stopping by your local book store and grabbing a copy of The Alchemist. And if you have read it, I highly recommend reading it again. I try to re-read it at least once a year as a gentle reminder of the power of purpose.

Continue to do what you in love, and remember that “when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.”

  1. I’ve never read the book before, but I’ve added it to my TBR! Whenever people ask me what my favourite book is, I always say Where the Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls even though the last time I read that was in elementary school, so I only remember the book very generally. But this summer I gave it a reread, which is a big deal for me because I hardly ever reread books because there are so many other books I want to read that I haven’t read for even a first time yet! Anyways, I’m glad I gave that book a reread. I also need to give the Harry Potter series a reread 😛 Anywho, thanks for sharing this book and these good vibes! -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey’s

  2. That last quote that you referenced will always be my absolute favorite from the book. I read that book one day during the summer of 2013 and I can honestly say that it completely changed my life. It truly motivated me to get to work and get things done. Perhaps I need to give it another read to help me with my current situation — which is lacking motivation/energy to do certain things.
