It wasn’t until a few months ago that I realized that this upcoming semester will be the first time I’ve had my own room since I was eight or nine years old. Wow!

I’ve never minded sharing a space, whether it be with my sisters or college roommates, but having the chance to fill a room with any and everything that represents me and my style. When I worked on the rebranding for E&M, I knew I wanted to include more personal insights into who I am, my style and aesthetic being one of those things. So, I’ve started a category focused on my style, and decided to add to it first by sharing some ideal bedroom musts for my future room.

My budget for building this room is incredibly low, but I thought it’d be fun to roam around online and on Pinterest and find small treasures without stressing over price tags. When it comes time to start building my room, I’ll be sure to share which items I gathered and the final look!

Building The Ideal BedroomMy goal is to create a clean minimalist feel, with a few small pops of color throughout. I’ve had so much of the same bedroom items, both at home and with me at school, and I’ve always stuck to the same comforting colors. Mainly, shades of purple with creams and whites mixed in. Now, I’m going for a simpler and more sophisticated aesthetic.Building The Ideal Bedroom

Which pieces, if any, would you add to your bedroom? If you have any photos, shops or blogs you love filled with interior design ideas or easy DIY projects, send them my way!
