Somehow September starts this week. Blink twice if you’re in as deep of a state of disbelief over that fact as I am!
The pandemic has changed my life in many ways but one of the biggest revelations it’s presented is that time is not real. 2020 simultaneously feels like it was 30 years long and never happened. We are closer to 2022 than 2020, even though I cannot conceptualize either year in my mind.
All made up, all fake.
What’s real? This new column! Each week, I’m going to share what’s in my bookmarks — recipes, outfits, book releases; all of the things I’m excited for in the week to come. This is perfect for folks who hate swiping up on IG, never remember to save the links anyway or just prefer seeing everything in one place.
Here’s what I’ve bookmarked this week:
Eating / I cannot stop making the yeast free dough from The Skinny Taste. I’ve made a simple cheese pizza and bagels, both of which took some tweaking on the amount of flour but turned out great. No complex ingredients and you can use it to make so many things.
Wearing / Old Navy made a big positive change this week and now offers up to a size 28 in store and a 30 online (which should be in store too, but I digress). I love celebrating good moves by brands so I went in and picked up some things. These bike shorts are seriously so comfy. Better for low impact workouts and lounging for sure. I will be picking up a few other colors! (affiliate link).
Reading / I got to read Alexa Martin’s newest book Mom Jeans and Other Mistakes earlier in the Spring and I cannot wait for everyone to have a chance to get this story. I’ve read almost all of her books and I think this is one of her best. She perfectly captures the messiness of adulthood and the importance of strong female friendships. And regardless of how things ended, Ben is dead to me <3 This book is out on September 7th so there is time to preorder! I also just downloaded the first book in EJ Mellow’s Mousai Series on my Kindle. I loved Mellow’s Animal Under the Fur and I’m excited for this new project! (Affiliate links)
Planning/ The end of the year approaching has me missing my bullet journal. I was excited to see that both Scribbles that Matter now has a b6 notebook in 100 gsm paper available! I love by b6 size stalogy notebook, but love a dot grid. 100 gsm is also perfect for paper that still feels like paper, but doesn’t bleed through. (Affiliate)
News / To say the news has been a lot lately is an understatement honestly. It’s overwhelming to try to keep up with everything happening in the world, but also helps me feel better to at least be informed. I followed Jessica Yellin a little over a year ago and she’s been such a valuable follow. She has amazing interviews that puts the big, complex things going on into digestible context. I feel smarter and more informed every time I engage her content.
I’m Obsessed / I was staunchly against getting an air fryer, mainly because I don’t have the space for anymore appliances in my tiny kitchen! My mom, however, cannot be stopped when she’s on an online shopping rampage, and got one for me and my sister. It’s been two weeks and…I’m obsessed. I throw everything in the air fryer. Chicken, salmon, veggies, potatoes. Literally everything. I’ve been converted. It’s small enough to store in my limited space but holds a good amount of food! (affiliate links)
In my cart/ I saw Phoebe share this Chilton Crewneck and instantly the Gilmore Girls Stan in me JUMPED out! Also, my forever love, Girlfriend Collective, just dropped new bras and undies some stunning new nude colors and I want it all. I really want to try the scoop bralette and the high rise thong.
