Despite Memorial Day having happened a few weeks ago, I’m counting this weekend as the first official weekend of Summer. It felt right, and even though it was a super simple one, it was an incredible few days.

Sunday Morning Coffee is the one column that, through every rebrand and content refreshing, has remained the same. I love putting it together and luckily, you all enjoy reading it. So to mix things up a bit, I thought in addition to a short weekend recap and sharing links, I’d also start including 4 things I’d tell you if we were getting coffee right now. And as always, you can share 4 things in the comments with me (and everyone else!). Sound good?

Four Things

1. I got my first big girl job offer this week and there aren’t enough Beyonce gifs in the world to describe how proud, excited and accomplished I feel. More on this later!

2. I haven’t been reading as much lately, but I’m hoping to finish this book and start this one by the end of the upcoming week.

3. …that is as long as I’m able to pry myself away from Orange is the New Black long enough to pick up a book. That Season 3 early release did me dirty #thebinge.

4. If the tidiness of your space is truly an indication of how cluttered your mind is, I definitely need some time to clear my head this week.

Links I loved…

+ This super simple DIY herb garden will definitely be happening post move. P.S – If you don’t check out the Free People blog often, I recommend it!

+ Should we really be all about the hustle?

+ Kory’s thoughts on protecting yourself as a business owner are spot on.

+ Speaking of reading more this week, when do you read?

+ Loved Victoria’s non-essential items she’s invested in for her blog. Have you wasted money on your business or blog? (P.S – Some blog investments all under $50)

Bookmark it: How to stop an panic attack.

+ Adding personality to your rental (* for my fellow apartment hunters/dwellers).

+ Simple DIY Summer stationary.

That’s it! Don’t forget to share your four things with me in the comments! Happy Sunday.

  1. Congrats on the job offer. I know that has to be rewarding to get you’ve only graduated college a couple of weeks ago. I’ve always loved your Sunday Morning Coffee and it’s get better overtime. So glad you back and I love the new design too. Happy Sunday!

    1. Thank you so much, Valla! I’m so thrilled and feel incredibly fortunate to have an offer this soon. Thanks for the sweet words about SMC and the new design, and thanks for reading and commenting, I appreciate it 🙂

  2. Congrats on the job Amber! Super exciting. I’m feeling the same about OITNB haha. Trying to go through the episodes slowly this time since it’s like the only good TV summer has to offer us.

    1. So naturally I’m done OITNB already #noshame. But I agree, Summer TV is seriously lacking and I loved the more emotional side of this season. I’m sure I’ll be re-watching soon. Debating on re-watching Gilmore Girls in the meantime.

  3. Congratu-freaking-lations on the job offer girl! Look at us big girls, doing our thing!
I’m totally paddling the messy workspace boat with you. I need a serious declutter and I’m not surprised my creativity is missing right now… Pretty sure its somewhere in the pile of printed PDFs on my desk…

  4. Hmm the article about hustling is really interesting. When I use it, I usually don’t mean to have any negative connotations, but I can see where it comes from! On reading, I really like the tip about only reading what you really enjoy. I have this weird thing where I have to finish a book once I pick it up, and that definitely slows me down if I’m not feeling it! There are sooo many great books out there; why spend your time on anything less? And yesss, I will definitely be bookmarking that article about panic attacks, and I will be referring to it throughout the school year!

    1. I was thinking the same when I read the article on hustling, but totally understood her perspective! I hope the article on panic attacks really helps you out this school year, I know how stressful that can be!
